Festival!
So today was District Orchestra Festival.
Festival:a day or time of religious or other celebration, marked by feasting, ceremonies, or other observances; a periodic commemoration, anniversary, or celebration; a period or program of festive activities, cultural events, or entertainment.
Seriously... none of these fit the event I spent most of my day at.
So I got out of class at 12:30 that way I could get dressed for festival. Which basically meant changing into a floor length black dress. Sliding on my heels that way I could get my dress and feet up off the floor of the bathroom, because who knows whats on there. Then attempting to redo my hair without and makeup with ten other girls all using the same mirror.
After this chaos we had our second rehersal of the day which was only supposed to last about 20 minutes but since our teacher was starting to become stressed, we had an hour rehersal, making it so that we left school a half an hour late.
The bus ride was probably the best part of the day as Brad kept me entertained with jokes and interesting Orchestra stories while Taylor slept away next to me.
Once we reached Ham Hall, we got to sit in the theater and watch groups in front of us. I sadly fell asleep until Jim texted me waking me up and keeping me up until we were called out front to get tuned and prepare for our turn on stage.
However, we were taken outside about a half an hour before we could be let into the green room for another rehearsal. So we stood outside tuning and chatting and attempting not to break anything as we stood there freezing. Then finally we were allowed into the green room where we had our final rehersal, did a last quick review of everything then were led out on stage.
Our performance went pretty well, slightly muddled yet still good. However, much to our disappoint we ended up with only one one and two twos.
