Star Trek

and Chris Pine

So Saturday after Flapjack was baptized (which I'm totally happy for her!) A bunch of us went to see Star Trek.
Now, my exprierce up until now has always been sitting around watching it with my dad wondering how many people will call me a nerd for knowing who Spock is and dreaming about U.S.S. Enterprise. (I even got excited today because there were re-runs of the TV show on SciFi) Please begin the mocking... NOW!
Anyways, the movie was amazing! It was basically a prologue to the original films and TV shows, showing how Captain James Tiberius Kirk became captain and how his friendship with Spock came about. It is an amazing movie, and I was explaining to Lemur this morning, its not just for SciFi geeks like myself. Anyone can, and more than likely will enjoy it. And since it basically goes back to the beginning one need not know the ins and outs of Star Trek like a hard core fan.

Now... James Tiberius Kirk is played by the lovely Chris Pine. See look at him... isn't he gorgeous???
Yeah, even if the movie had been horrible... I admit it would have been at least a 5 on a scale to 1-10 because of him... sounds like a different movie he was in *cough* Just My Luck *cough*

But anyways... go see Star Trek!!! It's totally worth it...

and in the mean time: Live long and Prosper

Cupcakes...

totally make the day go better.

but a Cookie and a Cupcake is even better!
I picked this beauty up after practice from the Retro Bakery. And let me tell you... it sure improved my mood. Know any other good cupcake places here in Vegas?

Regionals is over... now onto state!!!

So today was the final day of Regionals. Which is great!

My worst race was last Friday in the 3200... I ran it in 12:51 which is the worst time I got all season... saddening I know.

In the 800 I had placed top 12 last Wednesday meaning I had to come back today and run it again. I took 11th with a 2:40, but not half bad for it being the 3rd time I've ever ran the open 800!

I had also placed top 12 in the 1600 last Friday, so I was back to run that again today as well. I was really excited because I PRed by 2 seconds running a 5:40.

And finally... the 4x800! We took third and are going on to state this week! Friday at Del Sol @ 3:45 come check it out and cheer on the lovely girls in red!

It feels as if summer is here...

I want to spend more time outside...
yet the heat kind of prevents that...
so instead i sit in my room with the windows open enjoying all of the bright sunlight without the crazy heat

Today in Government we played a game called Banana Grams. Its basically like scrabble just without the board and your competing against each other. Anyways... me being the big dork I am, spelled out Darth Vader within a few minutes of playing... however they wouldnt let me play it because it was a name... what a shame...

By the way... any one have any good book suggestions? I've almost finished Generation Kill so I need a new one.

Prom!!!!

At the Strip after the dance

Request #4

Dear Future Husband,
Whenever I get quiet and not very talkative, instead of asking whats wrong, let me think. Then when you think I have thought enough wrap me in a hug and whisper how much you care for me into my ear. I'll be able to smile and worry ten times less than I had been before.
Thanks,
Katie

Yesterday...

I ran the first day of Regionals... there's three days!

4x800: we took third... and beat the other region's third place team... which means were going to state!

800: took 10th in the prelims (yikes!) but qualified for finals next week!

So I took a Quiz on Facebook...

That was a What Kind of Boy Should You Be With?
My result?
"The Best friend Boy"(isnt that who I always fall for?)
You need a bestfriend boy. It sounds very boring, but it's really not. This could turn into the most passionate relationship ever! You need someone that is just fun to be around, without all the mushy gushy stuff all the time. You want to be able to be yourself around a guy, and just hangout like you do with your friends. You also probably value being able to have a conversation that has to do with more than how much you "miss" or "love" eachother. If you have a bestfriend that's a guy, don't be afraid to DATE HIM! He could turn out to be the perfect guy for you. And if you don't have a guy bestfriend already, then find one! If you meet a guy you might be interested in, see if you can just be friends before you climb into the relationship.

thats what it said... word for word... hmmm... i think I know someone who fits the build....

here's to Happiness!

So over at Rockstar Diaries they've been doing a list of 10 things that make you terribly happy... which inspired me to make my own list...

10 things which make me terribly happy:
  1. the feeling of well worn running shoes
  2. reading a good book
  3. driving with the windows rolled down
  4. sitting on a hill looking at the lights in the city
  5. receiving a text from a certain someone
  6. singing along to songs on the radio
  7. writing notes and letters to people
  8. spinning in the rain
  9. mix cds
  10. sitting down to dinner with my parents

I feel as if...

I've been neglecting my bloggly duties!
but im back!

So, this weekend has been kind of chaotic.
Friday night I conned Flapjack into going to the mall with me (which was great since im not a fan of shopping! like at all) So we wandered around there for awhile. I finally got my prom jewlery which matches the flowery design at the bottom of my dress! (Score!) Then she ended up spending the night as well. So we to metro because Dillon invited her and it actually worked out cause Jim was there as well! So I got to see him which always make my day better.
Then Saturday morning I did a number on my foot. I was turning to hand Flapjack my hairdryer and ended up shoving my foot under the bathroom door. So now its black and blue and scratched, which is not awesome since Regionals is this week on Wednesday (4x800 and 800) and Friday (1600 and 3200). Saturday night, Jim invited me to go play Fugitive, so I grabbed Flapjack and we went up to play. I was the rider in his car, and it twas not easy! We saw no one! But only one person got caught the whole time, which is crazy!
Today I got to take my US Gov AP test which was actually easier than expected. Im hoping for a 5.

Alright goal for the week :post everyday and get back into the habit! Hold me to it will ya?
